Runways to Freedom Gift Acceptance Policy

Discretionary Acceptance
Acceptance of any contribution, gift, or grant is at the discretion of Runways to Freedom. The organization will only accept gifts that align with its mission and purpose, ensuring they can be utilized or expended in a manner consistent with the organization’s goals.
Donor Financial Security
No irrevocable gift, whether outright or involving life-income arrangements, will be accepted if it could reasonably jeopardize the donor’s financial security under any circumstances.
Tax and Legal Guidance
Runways to Freedom will not provide tax, legal, or other financial advice to donors. We encourage all donors to seek independent professional advice to assist them in the donation process.
Types of Acceptable Donations
Runways to Freedom will accept donations in the form of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services may also be accepted at the discretion of the organization.
Review of Certain Donations
Certain gifts, such as real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and donations with unclear sources or restricted uses, will undergo review prior to acceptance. This is to ensure that these contributions do not present undue obligations or liabilities for Runways to Freedom.
Acknowledgments and Receipts
Runways to Freedom will provide acknowledgment to donors meeting the necessary tax requirements for gifts received. However, apart from cash and publicly traded securities, no specific monetary value will be attributed to receipts or forms of substantiation for other types of donations.
Donor Intent and Anonymity
The organization will honor the intentions of donors regarding gifts with specific purposes, including requests for anonymity. For anonymous donations, information about the donor will be limited to staff members with a need to know.
Prohibition of Compensation for Gift Referrals

The Journey of Baboya Peters from Juba, South Sudan to the world stage

Baboya Peters is a South Sudanese model who became a professional model in Europe, signed under ISIS Models Africa. He recently featured in Saint Laurent Men’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection.

Baboya’s journey into the modeling world began when he was scouted through Instagram by Joan Okorodudu. Following the discovery, he was provided with the financial assistance needed to apply for his international passport. This enabled him to travel from Sudan to Nairobi, where the agency processed his visa. From Nairobi, Baboya flew out to Paris and Milan for his first fashion shows.

Upon returning to Nairobi after these shows, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) flew him from Nairobi to Morocco for another set of shows. Baboya’s rapid rise in the fashion industry is a testament to his talent and the support he received from influential figures in the modeling world.
